In 2021, Congress enacted the Corporate Transparency Act. This law creates a beneficial ownership information reporting requirement.
Beginning January 1, 2024, many companies will have to report information about their beneficial owners to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
Information about the reporting requirements, is available on FinCEN’s beneficial ownership information webpage, www.fincen.gov/boi

The Tennessee Secretary of State’s office has issued a new warning to businesses across the state about a deceptive mail scam related to the filing of annual business renewals.
