NASHVILLE, Tenn. — For the fifth consecutive year, Greenback Public School is a recipient of the Anne Dallas Dudley Gold Level Award. Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett, alongside Lieutenant Governor Randy McNally and Representative Lowell Russell, presented the plaque recognizing the school’s outstanding achievement in registering 44 student voters—100 percent of the eligible student body.

Student ambassadors Makella Graves, Heidi Lundquist, Briley Ervin, and Kaylee Hodges accepted the award on the school’s behalf and were commended by Secretary Hargett for their leadership and dedication to the effort, alongside Superintendent Michael Garren, Principal Matthew Brookshire, and Teacher Casey Hicks.
“For Greenback Public School to be awarded Gold each year the Anne Dallas Dudley Awards have been presented is a remarkable achievement,” said Secretary Hargett. “The leadership and student body here serves as the gold standard for civic engagement across the entire community.”

The Anne Dallas Dudley Gold Level Award represents the highest distinction in Tennessee’s student voter registration initiative, honoring schools that demonstrate exceptional commitment to civic duty. Lt. Governor McNally and Representative Russell are great proponents encouraging civic engagement across their districts as well as across the state. Loudon County Administrator of Elections Susan Harrison has provided support throughout the initiative.

The Anne Dallas Dudley Awards program is open to Tennessee public, charter, private and homeschool associations. It is named for Anne Dallas Dudley, who helped lead the successful effort to ratify the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, granting women the right to vote. Tennessee became the 36th and final state to ratify the amendment on Aug. 18, 1920.
