NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Secretary of State’s Office has announced that the special qualifying period for congressional candidates ended today, Friday, May 15, at noon. A list of candidates who filed by the deadline is available here: https://sos.tn.gov/announcements/2026-congressional-redistricting
Election officials are finalizing the processing of the petitions filed by noon today to determine whether the petitions have 25 valid signatures and whether other qualifying criteria have been met.
The list does not include candidates who did not file, have withdrawn, did not have enough signatures, or otherwise have not met the qualifying criteria.
Political parties have until noon on Sunday, May 17, 2026, to make determinations regarding the bona fide status of their candidates. The Division of Elections will release an updated list after that deadline.
