NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett announced Anne Dallas Dudley Gold Level Awards to three Weakley County schools: Dresden High School, Gleason High School, and Greenfield School. The award is a recognition of each school’s outstanding achievement in registering 100 percent of their eligible student body.

The Anne Dallas Dudley Gold Level Award represents the highest distinction in Tennessee’s student voter registration initiative, honoring schools that demonstrate exceptional commitment to civic engagement. Gleason High School was honored for the third consecutive year, while both Dresden High and Greenfield School are receiving this distinction for the first time.

“I’m proud of these students and educators in Weakley County for setting a high standard for civic participation in Tennessee,” said Secretary Hargett. “This accomplishment by these schools serve as an example to all citizens in their communities.”

Weakley County Administrator of Elections Alex Britt has supported voter registration efforts by each of these schools. Gleason High School was presented their award by Christian Cervantes, the Civics Engagement Coordinator with the Secretary of State’s office. Dresden High School and Greenfield School have their presentations scheduled for a future date.

The Anne Dallas Dudley Awards program is open to Tennessee public, charter, private and homeschool associations. It is named for Anne Dallas Dudley, who helped lead the successful effort to ratify the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, granting women the right to vote. Tennessee became the 36th and final state to ratify the amendment on Aug. 18, 1920.
