Celebrating Tennessee: 225 Years of Sources and Stories
A Summer Institute for Educators
The Tennessee State Library and Archives is delighted to offer an in-person summer teacher institute June 8-9, 2021 at our brand-new facility in Nashville! During this institute, we will celebrate Tennessee's 225th birthday with a focus on primary source activities for the 4th, 5th, 8th, and High School American history social studies curriculum.
All state office buildings are required to follow the Tennessee Pledge and implement Covid-19 Safety Measures. Covid-19 safety measures that will be in place during this summer institute include (but are not limited to) the requirement of masks that cover the mouth and nose, temperature checks for all participants and staff, socially distanced spaces, availability of hand sanitizer, and regular cleaning of spaces. This institute will be held in our new conference center space at the Tennessee State Library and Archives.
Space is limited to 28 participants. Participants who complete the institute will receive thirteen professional development hours. For participants who live more than one hour away from Nashville, overnight lodging will be provided.
