What is the Library Collection Services?

Library Collection Services at TSLA is responsible for making library materials available for research. This section acquires, processes, and catalogs materials in all formats and maintains the online catalog for the Tennessee State Library and Archives. This section also collects and preserves state and federal documents acquired in part through its role as a Tennessee documents repository, as well as through its participation in the Federal Depository Program. Library Collection Services also prepares newspapers for microfilming as part of the ongoing Tennessee Newspaper Project. In addition to daily responsibilities, Library Collection Services has dedicated a considerable amount of time performing a retrospective evaluation of the entire collection.
