Civil War – Geared Towards Upper-Elementary and Middle School
Our Civil Rights DocsBox was made possible by generous memorial gifts in honor of Joe Nave, a long-time member of the Friends of the Tennessee State Library and Archives and a lifelong lover of history.
The Civil Rights DocsBox investigates the various efforts and perspectives of Tennesseans who participated in the Civil Rights Movement of the mid-twentieth century. Students will explore primary and secondary sources available from the Tennessee State Library and Archives and related three-dimensional objects. Topics include the Nashville sit-ins, Tent Cities, school integration, demonstrations, boycotts, and more.
